Olympic triathlon

This event is restricted to athletes, men, women and teams that are 18 years and older

Swim 1.5km

The swimming portion takes place in the Bay of Lake St-Francois facing the ball park. A loop is 750 m, it is marked by a buoy. The participant must complete 2 loops for a total of 1.5 km. See map for details

Bike 40.0km

The cyclist must complete 8 laps of 5 km on the streets of downtown Valleyfield. The 40 km course is flat. For security reasons, the course is closed to all traffic circulation with the exception of one lane that is re-divided for automobile circulation on the Du Centenaire Avenue for north bound traffic between Victoria and Dufferin streets.

Run 10.0km

The course is flat in the area surrounding the Sauvé Park, the participant will cross the pedestrian bridge over the Beauharnois Canal for a portion of the course. The course is 2.5 km long and has 4 laps for a total of 10 km. The finish line and clock will be set up in front of the community chalet building.

1 place for world championship 2010 for winners of each categories, athletes will be member of Triathlon Quebec

Swim 750m

The cyclist will do 4 laps of 5 km on the same course as the Olympic Triathlon. See course map for details.

Run 5.0km

The course is the same as the Olympic Triathlon. The participant will complete 2 laps of the course for a total of 5km

Duathlon

This event is restricted to athletes, men, women and teams that are 16 years and older

Run 5.0 km (1st portion)

The athlete will start in front of the community chalet building, and complete 5 laps of 1km around the park for a total of 5 km. See course map for details

Bike 20.0km

The cyclist must complete 4 laps of 5km on the same course as the Olympic Triathlon and Sprint. See course map for details.

Run 2.5 km (2nd portion)

The course is flat and is along the perimeter of the Sauvé Park, the course crosses the pedestrian bridge of the Beauharnois Canal. The course is 2.5 km and the athlete has only to complete 1 lap to complete this event. The finish line and clock will be set up in front of the community chalet building.

Triathlon Sprint U17 Elite 750/20/5

Provincial Championship, without drafting.

This event is restricted to athletes with licence U17 Elite of Triathlon Quebec or another federation of triathlon recognized by TQ.

The first 150 participants to sign up for the Triathlon initiation will receive a terrific narrow mesh bag Merrell (value of $25)

Swim

The swimming will take place in the Bay, for distances please see chart below.

Bike

The bike course will consist of one lap, there and back on Victoria Street between Victoria and Nicholson, on the Quevillon Boulevard (2.5 km per lap). For security, the course will be closed to all traffic.

Run

The running course is along the perimeters of Sauvé Park, the distance is according to the age group (1km per lap). See chart.

If we have too many participants, we will use the 5 km bike course.

The first 150 inscriptions in the 5 & 10 km Merrel Race will receive a Merrell ball cap (value of $25)
